~ All Hallows’ Eve~

The Kids are off from school today.....

Which led to craving pumpkins....setting up for the night ahead with last minute decorating and finishing the last few touches on costumes.
My hair is a bit long.....so I chose Princess Leia this year....goes perfect with Dante's costume, Darth Vader . MeeMee came by to get ready for work....she is super cute as a scarecrow !!

Two sisters have a theme this year...Gravity Falls . The cartoon is based off of  Boring Oregon and The House of Mystery which is but 15 miles down the road. They are dead ringers for Mabel and Dipper Pine...

Time for pictures before heading out in search of candy....
Everyone had a grand time out and about....and Back home for our Halloween party and some movies in the media room!!

                                                         Happy Halloween

~Holding Down the Fort~

As I stay behind to attend to the family's needs  with Football games,Band,Homework ,Youth Group,School dances, a little detail missing his father and shopping for Halloween costumes....

Greg is at Fort Jackson in Columbia South Carolina with a few of our daughters....

Our daughter Leila was hours away from being finished with basic training on Wednesday... 2 of our girls traveled cross country with Greg to spend this special time with our newest soldier.
Family Day was spent catching up...and having a beloved first cup of coffee in weeks!!

Thursday {Today} brought her graduation ceremony....
We are all Very proud of our soldier...and she looks rather sharp in her dress blues.
We were  able to Skype and have coffee together ...{well sort of}
Next stop for Leila {The World} and AIT school in Georgia for the next 5 months ,and after that Airborne school.

So , As Greg holds down the fort on his end.....I'm keeping the home fires
burning.

A day in the life of The little Old Lady that lives in a Shoe....

~Autumn Sun~

'Tis the Season of Pumpkin Patch Adventures, Warm days and cool nights ,Leaves change colors and falling from the trees.....

What a year makes....

This same time last year our littlest detail was not yet a year old....How grand it has been to watch him grow...
                                     Today....
His best friends our his nieces and nephew.... He adores his Big sisters...and can always count on his big brother .....

The Baby Hay Maze with his eldest sister....playing in the Corn barrel ....watching old water pumping machinery....

These two little ladies are as close as sisters..and are growing up so quickly .... These two were
the bravest of the bunch....

The kids were in search of The Great pumpkin and a would be Jack-o-lantern to bring home....a tall order in my family...to find   Just the Right one!!!

With Dante being older/bigger this year ...Greg and I did something fun with him....
...Yep...had a blast!!!!

An old fashion hay ride...following a shadow...a search for the prefect Jack-be-little for their rooms...
I simply love this time of year!!! And though our family is much smaller now then last year...with everyone going their own directions.....I'm grateful ...Grateful for the time I have with my children ...my grandchildren.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
Cheers

~For the Love of a little boy~

Imagine if you will.....

After a long day of exploring ....playing....and learning...

A little boy asking for his beloved Chocolate Milk ....

You make your way to the kitchen...grab a clean bottle...and go to fill his simple request .

The carton feels rather light....too light. The brown and white carton was a casualty
of teens home from school today.
The littlest detail does not understand why all his milk is gone.....

It was an easy enough fix..I could have run to the corner store to grab another carton ....but I'm still a week away from my monthly shopping trip.
So, I got creative....

  3 ingredients and a protein shaker ....

                        ' voilà '

Freshly made.... He is a happy boy once more !!!

                                                  Bon Appétit

~A Random Sunday~

With only 3 kids left at home...life is much more...quiet....
Festive Season Mugs awaiting fresh brewed coffee ...

Sunday dinners  are smaller ,the table is bigger....and a bag of  Cheese puffs last.... laundry and a football uniform done with just a few loads.....Movies in the trashed media room with  a  game system in hand....nails to be painted in a a soon to be teenager bedroom that she no longer has to share, with her favorite  band playing....

A little detail and a love for random music..."What does the fox say" ???
Yep ,no clue...but a fun song .....even after the 20th time....But still....

If you know what the fox says...can you let me know??
Cool.....much obliged  ( :
