With only 3 kids left at home...life is much more...quiet....
Festive Season Mugs awaiting fresh brewed coffee ...
Sunday dinners are smaller ,the table is bigger....and a bag of Cheese puffs last.... laundry and a football uniform done with just a few loads.....Movies in the trashed media room with a game system in hand....nails to be painted in a a soon to be teenager bedroom that she no longer has to share, with her favorite band playing....
A little detail and a love for random music..."What does the fox say" ???
Yep ,no clue...but a fun song .....even after the 20th time....But still....

We simply adore Halloween in our family....
I will for go a certain store I least desire all year long...
but after a little one has finally called
it a night ,but still {some what early in my book}
I am whisked away by my handsome husband to the one store
open after 11p.m. to go......
"HALLOWEEN SHOPPING!!"
The littlest detail loves Snoopy and the Great Pumpkin .... So only fitting to get him some new Pajamas for the season. Plus some festive cards to send the girls in the Army . Ended off the night with a stop off at the local Diner....
It is cleaning time at the Little Shoe.
Time to set Summer things away....and set up for the colder wet weather ahead....
First Stop...The Nursery....
Dust..polish...music playing in the back ground.....
Gathering up books....Pulling warm Autumn/Winter clothing out from the Attic...Wash-dry-hang up ...Dante keeps me company while I work : )
Time for a break....A daughter home from school asking if I had a copy of Edgar... of Course I do!!!
A read of The Raven , Hot chocolate with pumpkin spice creamer ....and talk of Disneyland at Halloween time!!
More talking with my crew while I prepare Dinner and something was mentioned of Johnny Appleseed and Paul Bunyan ....
Which lead a daughter to the DVD library in search of a copy of Legends bought for children before him....
And how our littlest detail just might like this one...and he does .
Now I'm off to attempt to put this little love down for the night....
Life is random at times.... you come across things from the past when you least expect it....
Case in point.... While setting up for Winter and placing Summer stuff in the Attic...I happened to find a photograph...it was found just laying in a box...set off to the side to be forgotten....
My brothers .....Date ...1966??? Paul maybe not quite 3 yrs old...Mike maybe just about 2 yrs. old.
The first thing I noticed was how one of these little boys resembled my youngest detail....

....Time in a bottle.....
September 25th 1993....our fourth child arrived after 72+ hours of labor via home-birth by her Father....weighing 11 lbs.
A full head of hair....perfect features .... she was nick named The Dutchess....and her 3 older sisters adored her!!
As like any child....She grew up quickly {to me it seemed}....
At 3 yrs old a Picture with her Grandfather Val....Her 6th birthday smiles with her Dad....
At 11 yrs old The proud baker and some of her sisters....Celebrating her 14th trip around the Sun with her traditional Halloween themed pinata ......
Have I mentioned before...time goes just too quickly when you are a parent...???
Perhaps I have....
She as like all her sisters...has a loving heart....and how happy they all were when Noah joined us in March of 1999...... a big sister to a baby brother.....Tessa and Coral insisted their dad take the first official big sisters photo..... How grand~
Time is fleeting....
A Summers night on the sofa with her two youngest siblings in 2007....Some of her sisters at Christmas time of the same year... Track and Field photo from her senior year 2012 ....
Memories caught in a still frame.....and before we knew it...She graduated from high school.
As her birthday comes to pass this year....She is in school 3000+ miles away...The first birthday away from home.
She received her Birthday fare in the evening mail yesterday....She was ELATED!!!! She said it made her miss home all the more and can't wait to come home for the holidays!!
I'm the proud mother of 21 yr. old daughter serving in the military....and in my heart ,she will always be .....forever Young ( :
Saturday at the little shoe started as always....A hungry little baby boy in search of breakfast...and me... In search of a HOT CUP OF COFFEE!!!
After we both were happy with our finds...He in his highchair me sitting at the table.... I spied a older child's sketch book...
Dante and his Woody ....How super cute !!!!
Greg joins a few minutes later...and he says "Hey there Freckles ,How about a Date night tonight ???"
My reply was , ' I love the sound of that!!!'
After chores were done , a call from Tess.....we were off .
As the sun was setting over our peaceful little town...
We ended up at a Funky Cool little Cafe' on G Street....
The little place played great music from the 70's ....and before we left ,this one was playing...
When Leila was born....many friends gave me copies of this song....
Can't help but think of her when I hear this one play. A few more weeks til I see her pretty
face again.
